An Australian woman has been found guilty of murdering her estranged husband’s parents and aunt by serving them a meal laced with poisonous mushrooms.

Erin Patterson was convicted of three counts of murder and one count of attempted murder on Monday following a nine-week trial in the regional town of Morwell.

Patterson, 50, had pleaded not guilty to the murders of her father-in-law, Donald Patterson, mother-in-law, Gail Patterson, and Gail’s sister, Heather Wilkinson, as well as the attempted murder of Ian Wilkinson, Heather’s husband.
