Belarus and China have signed a new cooperation plan in the field of healthcare for the period 2026–2028, marking a further step in the development of bilateral relations in public health and medical science, reports BelTA, a partner of TV BRICS.

The agreement was concluded during the 9th Meeting of Health Ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO), where representatives discussed key priorities and future directions for collaboration in healthcare systems across member states.

During the event, Belarusian First Deputy Health Minister Elena Bogdan held a series of bilateral meetings with delegations from SCO countries, as well as with representatives of the World Health Organisation, focusing on expanding cooperation in areas such as medical research, healthcare management and disease prevention.

The newly signed plan outlines a framework for continued collaboration between the Belarusian Ministry of Health and China’s national health authorities, with an emphasis on knowledge exchange, joint initiatives and the strengthening of institutional partnerships.

Officials noted that the agreement is expected to enhance coordination in addressing global health challenges and contribute to the development of more resilient healthcare systems in both countries.

According to the source, the initiative also reflects broader efforts within the SCO to deepen sectoral cooperation and promote shared approaches to healthcare development across the region.
