Belarusian and Egyptian companies agreed to expand cooperation and signed contracts worth US$6.5 million following a business forum in Minsk, which brought together around 150 representatives from both countries. This was reported by
BelTA, a partner of TV BRICS, citing the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Participants in the event signed a number of agreements, including deals related to the supply of fruit products to Belarus and tractor exports to Egypt.
“We maintain fairly intensive cooperation with the Egyptian side. Belarus exports tractors and other machinery, dairy products, wood-processing goods and rolled metal products to Egypt. These are the main categories of our exports. As for imports from Egypt to Belarus, these primarily include fruit, spices and chemical products,” said Oleg Dikun, Deputy Minister of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade of Belarus.
According to him, the Egyptian side has shown strong interest in Belarusian whole-milk dairy products as well as engineering and industrial goods.
Food supplies and agricultural raw materials remain an important area of bilateral cooperation. The veterinary authorities of both countries have approved sanitary certificates for the export of Belarusian dried dairy products and beef to Egypt. Forty-two Belarusian dairy-processing enterprises have been granted the right to export dairy products to the Egyptian market.
The Egyptian delegation, headed by Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Mohamed Farid Saleh, spent five days in Belarus. Addressing business representatives, the minister stressed that companies from both countries are playing an important role in strengthening economic partnership between the two states.
“I am convinced that the private sector remains the key driver of growth, investment and job creation. The partnership between Egypt and Belarus, based on mutual trust and a shared modernisation agenda, will create new opportunities for businesses in both countries,” Mohamed Farid Saleh stated.
During the visit, a preliminary agreement was reached to establish a Belarusian-Egyptian Business Cooperation Council under the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Federation of Egyptian Chambers of Commerce.
“I am confident that this will become a highly effective platform for discussing opportunities to develop joint Belarusian-Egyptian projects. […] The positive dynamics of trade and economic cooperation between our countries remain sustainable. Bilateral trade turnover consistently stands at around US$150 million per year. In addition to the domestic regional market, Belarusian businesses view Egypt as one of the most effective gateways for entering and establishing a presence in Africa,” said Elena Malinovskaya, Deputy Chairperson of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
At the end of 2025, trade turnover between Belarus and Egypt amounted to US$110 million. Belarus exported skimmed and whole milk powder, buttermilk, flour and confectionery products, as well as dried vegetables to Egypt. This year, enterprises plan to increase supplies of dried dairy products, including infant nutrition products.
