Bolivian animation festival concludes with winners from across Latin America
The 3rd Edition of the Latin American Amateur Animation Festival “ANIMATEUR” 2025 has come to a close in Bolivia. The event, organised by the Bolivian Network of Animators (RAB), awarded participants from various Latin American countries.
As part of the festival, talks were held by experts from different countries, addressing topics related to the animation industry. TV BRICS acted as the event’s media partner.
Chilean animator and academic Leonardo Beltran highlighted the importance of the festival and its potential to showcase different works and discover projects by fellow creators.
“For us, it has been very useful to have spaces and meeting points where people involved in animation can get to know each other. I believe festivals are extremely important in this regard,” said Beltran.
Likewise, Costa Rican producer and owner of an animation studio Alfredo Moraga emphasised the opportunities such events offer to share and promote animators’ work, contributing to continuous improvement in the field.
At the close of the festival, awards were presented to participants from Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Bolivia, and Colombia.
In the “Latin American Animated Short Films” category, the winner was Heitor Victor (Brazil); in the “Bolivian Animated Short Films” category, the winner was Darek Larrazabal; in the “Animated GIFs” category, the winner was Iris Gonzales (Bolivia); in the “Experimental” category, the winner was Jose Miguel Ugarte (Bolivia); and in the “Children” category, the winner was Laura Bautista (Colombia).
During the closing ceremony of “ANIMATEUR,” organisers invited participants to join the celebration of the 20th anniversary of Bolivian animation, to be held in October this year.
