Brazil has launched the third edition of its “Beef and Road” project in Zhengzhou, Henan province, as part of efforts to strengthen trade links with China, reports
Brasil247, a partner of TV BRICS.
The event, held on 2 November, brought together Brazilian and Chinese representatives to explore new business opportunities in the beef sector. The programme included trade discussions, cultural performances and a traditional Brazilian Beef Dinner featuring premium cuts and national wines.
The initiative aims to bring exporters and importers closer, expanding Brazil’s reach into China’s interior beyond major hubs like Beijing and Shanghai. Zhengzhou, a logistics centre of over 12 million people, was chosen as a strategic location to build long-term trade partnerships and boost access to new markets.
Brazil remains China’s largest supplier of beef, accounting for about half of the country’s total imports. Between January and September 2025, exports reached 1.15 million tonnes, worth more than US$6 billion, a sharp increase in both volume and value compared with the previous year, the media outlet noted.
After Zhengzhou, Brazil will continue its trade promotion efforts at the 2025 China International Import Expo in Shanghai, one of the world’s biggest import fairs.
