Brazil launches COP30 platform to strengthen private sector role in global climate action

Brazil’s National Confederation of Industry (CNI) has launched the Sustainable Business COP30 initiative to expand private sector participation in the United Nations Climate Change Conference, which will take place in Belem, Para, from 10 to 21 November 2025. This is reported by
Agencia Brasil, a partner of TV BRICS.

The platform is designed to collect and share successful cases of decarbonisation, low-carbon economy projects and climate finance solutions from more than 40 million companies across 60 countries, creating a permanent channel for business contributions to COP30 and future conferences.

According to Sustainable Business COP30 president Ricardo Mussa, the initiative will allow governments to base public policies on proven examples rather than untested ideas, helping to accelerate the implementation of climate agreements already reached.

He noted that the Brazilian edition of the COP will leave the Sustainable Business COP30 as a lasting legacy for structured private sector engagement in international climate processes.
