Brazil sets historic record in international tourism arrivals

Brazil has reached a historic milestone in international tourism, welcoming 6.8 million foreign visitors by 14 September 2025. The figure represents 98.5 per cent of the national target of 6.9 million tourists established under the National Tourism Plan 2024–2027.

The achievement was formally marked in Belem, where national and regional authorities highlighted the country’s progress in strengthening air connectivity, destination promotion, and infrastructure development. This is reported by the
official website of Brazil’s Ministry of Tourism.

The government has also set an objective: 10 million international visitors by the end of 2025, consolidating tourism as a driver of economic development, job creation, and income generation across the country.

Authorities stressed that in addition to improved flight connectivity, Brazil has intensified its presence at major international tourism fairs, expanded digital promotion campaigns, and invested in tourism infrastructure. These measures aim to diversify attractions across all regions and enhance the overall quality of the visitor experience.

The Ministry of Tourism also announced updates to the Official Tourism Events Calendar, enabling states to directly register local events. The reform is designed to strengthen integration among national destinations and broaden opportunities for international promotion.
