Brazil to host 2026 Pan American Artistic Gymnastics Championships

The country also organises the Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships in Rio de Janeiro

Brazil has been officially named as the host country for the 2026 Pan American Championships in both artistic and rhythmic gymnastics, following a decision by the Pan American Gymnastics Union during its general assembly held earlier this week. This is reported by
Toda Palavra, a partner of TV BRICS.

The 2026 championships will include both senior and junior categories. The selection reflects Brazil’s ongoing commitment to promoting high-level sporting events and supporting athlete development in the region, the source claimed.

Henrique Motta, President of the Brazilian Gymnastics Confederation, stated that hosting international competitions is a strategic priority.

“We aim to maintain Brazil’s status as a competitive force and as a leading organiser of major gymnastics events. Bringing top-tier competitions to our country helps expand public interest and gives Brazilian fans the opportunity to see elite continental and global talent live,” he said.

According to the source, Brazil’s reputation as a gymnastics hub continues to grow. Brazil’s youthful team made history at the 2025 Pan American Championships. With an average age of just 17, the team dominated the event by winning all three available gold medals.

In August 2025, the country will also host the Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships in Rio de Janeiro.
