Brazil to prepare a new education bill
It is planned to allocate at least 10% of the country’s GDP to the education sector
In the final document of the national conference on education in Brazil, it will be proposed to cancel the new system of secondary education. This information was provided by the coordinator of the National Education Forum (FNE) Heleno Araujo. In addition, he believes that it is necessary to allocate at least 10% of Brazil’s GDP to this area.
This document, according to the federal government, should be the basis for the development of a national education plan for the next 10 years.
“The point of the final document is to work on a systemic vision of Brazilian education with strategies, proposals and goals, from kindergarten to postgraduate studies,” explained a teacher working in basic education in Pernambuco.
Another point that the document will address is the defence of integrated education in the public system. Thus, the authorities want to include in the curriculum additional subjects that can be studied outside of school. This is reported by
Brasil 247, a partner of TV BRICS.
“The theatre, the gym are public places that can be included in the school curriculum,” said Heleno Araujo.
The federal government is expected to present a bill on the new education plan by the end of March.
