Brazilian Municipality City Hall launches cultural consultations

Cultural actors, artists, creators, producers, collectives and institutions can participate

Niteroi City Hall, through the Municipal Department of Culture, has launched a public consultation on implementation of the Aldir Blanc National Policy for Cultural Development.

The first phase of the public consultation will collect information and indicators that will help develop an action plan to implement the law in the municipality. This is reported by
Toda Palavra, a partner of TV BRICS.

The information generated from the mapping will contribute to the development of models, formats and categories of proposals that will be implemented through the funding mechanisms provided for in the Act.

“We are very pleased to launch this campaign, which aims to gather valuable input from every resident and cultural worker in Niteroi. The implementation of the Municipal Law is a crucial step towards strengthening and further developing the local cultural scene. The Municipal Secretary for Culture believes that listening to the voices of the cultural community and working together to create an inclusive future for our city is the way to fulfil our motto: ‘Culture is a right’,” noted a representative of the Niteroi mayor’s office Julia Pacheco.

The public consultation will be open until 9 April.
