Brazilian president to visit Russia in May
Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva will visit Russia in May. This was announced by the special adviser on international affairs to the Brazilian President Celso Amorim, writes the newspaper
Folha de S. Paulo.
Lula da Silva’s visit is expected to strengthen the strategic partnership between Russia and Brazil, as well as to discuss topical issues on the international agenda.
Brazil took over the baton of the BRICS presidency on 1 January this year. During this period, the country plans to focus on climate change, sustainable development and artificial intelligence (AI) regulation. The main event, the BRICS summit, is expected in July 2025 in Rio de Janeiro.
