Brazil’s industry continues to grow in March

Strong demand over the past two and a half years fuelled output and employment growth

Brazil’s Purchasing Managers Index (PMI) for industry stood at 53,6 in March.

The main contributor to growth in March was demand, which had a positive impact on other index indicators. New orders increased for the third consecutive month, reaching the highest levels since July 2021, especially in capital goods manufacturing.

Manufacturers increased output in March, the second strongest rate of growth since mid-2021, and created new jobs. This is reported by
Brasil 247, a partner of TV BRICS.

Acquisition planning, new plant openings, new product launches and investments are creating a positive production outlook for the next 12 months.
