Brazil’s Ministry of Health to create smallpox emergency committee
Brazilian Health Minister Nisia Trindade announced the creation of an emergency operational committee to respond to the spread of smallpox.
The committee will include representatives from the Ministry of Health, the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa), and the councils of health secretaries of municipalities and states, as reported by
Brasil 247, a partner of TV BRICS.
Among the planned measures are the purchase of diagnostic tests, travel alerts and updating the contingency plan.
