BRICS leaders congratulate Catholics on Easter

The holiday was celebrated on 31 March

BRICS leaders have congratulated Catholics on Easter. Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his best wishes to the Catholic population in India.

“On Easter, we hope that the message of renewal and optimism reverberates all over. May this day inspire us all to come together, fostering unity and peace. Wishing everyone a joyful Easter,” the Prime Minister wrote on a social media post.

Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva sent greetings to the country’s citizens on the eve of the holiday.

“Easter is approaching. This is a period of rebirth. By being true to our principles, we will be able to build an inclusive and accessible Brazil for all,” the president said.

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa wished all the best to Catholics and other Christian denominations as they celebrate Easter.

“The prayers and reflection that define Easter renew the spirit of the nation. This period also allows us to connect with family, friends and the community around us and to explore our most beautiful country,” the statement on the leader’s website reads.
