Cardiology hospital opens in Indonesia with support from UAE

A cardiology hospital has been officially opened in the Indonesian city of Surakarta. The ceremony was attended by the President of the country, Prabowo Subianto, reports the
ANTARA.

The new medical centre, established with the support of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), is equipped with modern diagnostic and treatment facilities. According to the President, it is the only institution of this level in Central Java, and only four other hospitals in the entire country currently possess comparable advanced technologies.

In his speech, Subianto described the new hospital as a symbol of friendship between the two countries. He expressed his gratitude to the President of the UAE, Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, for his contribution to the development of Indonesia’s healthcare system.

“We are deeply grateful and highly appreciative of his attention, care, and commitment to supporting Indonesia in its national development,” said the Indonesian leader.

The Head of State also noted that the opening of the hospital would enable patients with cardiovascular diseases to receive high-tech care without travelling abroad.

Construction of the hospital began in 2023. The groundbreaking ceremony took place on 27 November 2023, with the participation of the Minister of Health of Indonesia, Budi Gunadi Sadikin, and the UAE Ambassador to Indonesia, Abdulla Salem AlDhaheri.
