The entry into BRICS was a landmark for South Africa, strengthening political, social and economic global position stated Dudley Filippa, the chairperson of South African International eCommerce (SAIEA). 

“This provided South Africa with an enviable opportunity to access new emerging markets, with potential growth, economic diversification and synergies across several sectors of our economy,” he added.

Dudley Filippa notes, that BRICS trade agreements offer significantly reduced or zero tariffs on various goods among member countries. This is reported by

Chairperson of SAIEA also said China’s Belt and Road Initiative aims to enhance trade and investment with Africa, increasing demand for South African goods.
