China and Zimbabwe enhance cooperation on transport infrastructure development

The aviation partnership strengthens economic ties between the two countries

Zimbabwe and China have inked two pivotal deals aimed at improving airport infrastructure maintenance and advancing skills training in the transportation sector. The agreements were finalised in Harare, Zimbabwe’s capital. This is reported by
Xinhua News Agency, a partner of TV BRICS.

Zimbabwe’s Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructural Development Joshua Sacco emphasised that the technical cooperation will allow Zimbabwe to leverage China’s advanced expertise in transportation infrastructure.

“So as we expand our airports in the country. It means we also have the need for skilled manpower, and this comes in handy as we cooperate with the Chinese company,” Sacco said.

He also expressed gratitude to his counterpart for its dedication to supporting Zimbabwe’s infrastructure modernisation, highlighting how the company’s contributions will accelerate the country’s industrialisation goals.

Ma Xin, Vice Governor of China’s Jiangsu Province, who headed a delegation to Zimbabwe, noted that with Zimbabwe progressing toward industrialisation, the demand for robust infrastructure is surging. Ma expressed eagerness from Jiangsu-based engineering and construction firms to contribute to Zimbabwe’s infrastructure development.
