China is pressing ahead with its goal of landing astronauts on the Moon by 2030, outlining a busy schedule of development and testing for its crewed lunar programme. The plan involves multiple spacecraft, rockets, and landers, all undergoing rigorous evaluation, according to
Xinhua News Agency, a partner of TV BRICS.
Upcoming tests include integrated trials for the Lanyue lunar lander, thermal and maximum dynamic pressure escape tests for the Mengzhou manned spacecraft, and low-altitude and verification flights for the Long March-10 rocket, the China Manned Space Agency (CMSA) said.
Key prototypes, including the Long March-10 rocket, Mengzhou spacecraft, Lanyue lander, Wangyu lunar suit, and Tansuo lunar rover, have been completed. Designs for scientific payloads are finalised, and launch, tracking, and landing infrastructure on Earth is being rapidly developed.
This year’s programme has already seen successes such as propulsion and firing tests for Long March-10, the zero-altitude escape test for Mengzhou, and landing and takeoff verification for Lanyue.
