China-SCO Urgent Medical Care Centre is established in Beijing

The institution will organise academic events and scientific exchanges

The China-SCO Urgent Care Centre has been established in the Chinese capital, as reported by
Xinhua News Agency, a partner of TV BRICS.

The institution is based at Peking University People’s Hospital as an international platform for academic exchanges between Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) member states in the field of emergency medical care. The centre’s staff plan to regularly organise academic events, including scientific conferences, seminars and reciprocal visits.

According to Guo Yanhong, head of the National Health Commission’s medical emergency department, the establishment of the centre aims to promote contacts and practical cooperation between China and SCO member countries in emergency medicine. The facility will help Chinese doctors improve their skills in providing care in emergency situations.

Wang Jun, head of Peking University People’s Hospital, said the centre will not only be a link for sharing medical resources, but also a bridge for strengthening medical and health cooperation between SCO member states.
