By using intelligent production lines, the state-owned China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, which specialises in satellite research and development, has shortened the time it takes to manufacture a satellite from roughly six months to just twenty days. This is reported by

Thirteen sections of the manufacturing line at the plant in northern China’s Tianjin Municipality build satellites with minimal human intervention through the use of automated guided vehicles and mechanical manipulators.

Assembling the many cables that are placed in various layers to make up each satellite is one of the trickiest jobs in the satellite manufacturing process.

In order to address this issue, scientists have created a digital control system that projects each step onto a satellite, allowing employees to follow directions and build the wires piece by piece.

Experts claim that in the past, either they had to teach new hires how to perform this duty or they needed seasoned personnel who were knowledgeable about the module. However, with the clarity of each stage of the procedure, even beginners can handle it now.

Every production location has a 1.5-day workday scheduled.
