China starts fully performing the SCO rotating chairmanship functions
Such a statement was made by China’s foreign ministry
China has started to fully perform the rotating chairmanship of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) for 2024–2025. Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning said this at a daily briefing on Monday.
“Following the Astana summit in July, China has formally taken over the rotating presidency of the SCO for 2024–2025 and will host a summit in 2025, as is common practice. China attaches great importance to the presidency and has fully started our work”

The Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson pointed out that the SCO has grown into a comprehensive regional cooperation organisation with the widest coverage and the largest population in the world. Mao Ning pointed out that over the next 12 months, China will work closely with SCO partners in the fields of politics, security, economy, and culture, reports Xinhua News Agency, a partner of TV BRICS.
