China unveils open-access AI research platform to accelerate global scientific breakthroughs

China has introduced a next-generation artificial intelligence platform designed specifically for scientific research to promote open innovation and international cooperation, reports
Global Times, a partner of TV BRICS.

Developed by the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the new AI-for-science system is already demonstrating its potential across multiple disciplines. Researchers report that the platform has identified previously unknown particle decay modes and achieved highly accurate solar flare forecasting, capabilities that could dramatically reduce the time required for major scientific discoveries.

Unlike conventional AI systems focused on general-purpose applications, the new platform was created to support advanced scientific research in fields including physics, mathematics, biology and space science. The system integrates foundational models, discipline-specific tools and practical research applications into a unified framework capable of assisting scientists throughout the research process.

According to the source, Chinese researchers have made the platform available to the international scientific community, allowing institutions and researchers worldwide to benefit from its capabilities and contribute to future development.

Chinese research institutions have also expanded scientific cooperation with partner countries through international programmes and joint projects, reflecting a wider strategy aimed at strengthening global research networks and facilitating access to emerging technologies.

The new platform is already being applied across more than 100 research scenarios spanning fundamental science, engineering, public welfare and strategic development programmes. Through international cooperation and knowledge-sharing mechanisms.
