China’s Changchun hosts exhibition of Russian paintings
Seven Russian artists presented their paintings
The 2nd Northeast China Book Fair, which brought together book publishers, artists and culture lovers, started in Changchun, Jilin Province. The event was held at the city’s Agricultural Expo Park. Simultaneously with the fair, the exposition “The Majestic Changbai – an exhibition of oil painting by Russian artists” was opened. This is reported by
Northeast Asia Today, a partner of TV BRICS.
The exhibition is timed to the 80th anniversary of the Victory and is held within the framework of the Years of Culture of Russia and China (2024-2025). Seven Russian artists from the St. Petersburg Union of Artists, the I. Repin St. Petersburg State Academy Institute of Painting, and other institutions presented their paintings.
The exposition was inspired by the Changbai Mountain, one of the symbols of the north-east of China. Chinese artists also took part in the exhibition, highlighting the nature of the event as a platform for international cultural dialogue.
The organisers note that the event is one of the key events of the Years of Culture aimed at strengthening humanitarian ties between Russia and China. The report says that Jilin province uses art as a tool for cultural exchange and demonstrating its potential in the “One Belt, One Road” initiative.
