China’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson: China enhances poverty reduction ties with SCO member states

This remark was made in response to the recently held 2025 SCO Forum on Poverty Reduction and Sustainable Development

China is intensifying its cooperation with Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member countries in the field of poverty alleviation, according to Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning. This is reported by
CGTN, a partner of TV BRICS.

Mao highlighted that since taking over the rotating presidency of the SCO, China has organised a range of events under the banner of the “SCO Year of Sustainable Development.” These efforts aim to bolster joint initiatives in poverty reduction and advance long-term socioeconomic growth across the region.

Earlier, Chinese President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory message to the forum, reaffirming China’s commitment to strengthening policy coordination, sharing best practices in poverty alleviation, and supporting fellow SCO nations in pursuing development paths tailored to their unique national circumstances.
