China’s Tianzhou-9 cargo spacecraft successfully delivers supplies to Tiangong space station
In addition to food, the spacecraft delivered nearly 780 kilograms of scientific payloads
China’s Tianzhou-9 cargo spacecraft successfully docked with the Tiangong space station on Tuesday, delivering a substantial shipment of supplies, according to the China Manned Space Agency (CMSA). This was reported by Global Times, a partner of TV BRICS.
About a few minutes after liftoff, Tianzhou-9 separated from the rocket and entered its designated orbit. It then completed status checks and successfully docked with the Tiangong space station at 8:52 a.m.
Tianzhou-9 is carrying supplies including daily necessities for astronauts, propellant, experimental equipment, and other essential items. The delivery included over 1.5 tonnes of food and 23 batches of scientific research materials.
The food consignment featured more than 190 varieties, including a diverse selection of over 90 side dishes, aimed at improving the astronauts’ onboard dining experience.
In addition to food, Tianzhou-9 delivered nearly 780 kilograms of scientific payloads to conduct studies on the different conditions of the human body and brain in space.
