DA’s criminal charges against Nkabane a coordinated attack: ANC

The African National Congress (ANC) has described the Democratic Alliance (DA)’s action against Higher Education and Training Minister, Dr. Nobuhle Nkabane as a coordinated attack.

The DA is expected to file criminal charges against Nkabane at the Cape Town Central Police Station today.

The party says Nkabane deceived Parliament about the formation of an independent panel and the appointment of ANC-linked individuals to the SETA Board.

The DA’s decision to lay charges comes ahead of Nkabane’s budget vote presentation in the NCOP on Thursday.

ANC Youth League Secretary-General, Mntuwoxolo Ngudle, “The DA is misled in terms of South Africa’s law. They must quote any section of the applicable legislation that says you must not be aligned to the government of the day. So, let’s not allow South Africa’s society to be misled by people who want to create a façade on matters they have got political interest in. This is a democratic country and it’s governed by applicable legislation. Let’s not allow a coordinated attack on a female, young minister.”
