Dubai reduces oil and fat testing time from two hours to two minutes

The Dubai Central Laboratory, part of Dubai Municipality, has begun using technology to automatically test the quality of oils and fats. It enables the detection of signs of oxidation and other changes in products during production and storage without human intervention. This was reported by
Emirates News Agency (WAM), a partner of TV BRICS.

The new method significantly speeds up the analysis: testing a single sample takes around two minutes instead of two hours. As a result, the laboratory can analyse up to 60 samples a day – ten times more than before.

The technology also eliminates the need for the chemical reagents used in traditional analysis. This reduces waste and minimises the environmental impact of laboratory procedures while maintaining the accuracy of the results.

The system will help to monitor the quality of edible oils and fats more effectively, identify potential problems more quickly and respond more promptly to test results, the article notes.
