Trade between Egypt and BRICS nations rose significantly in 2024, reaching a total value of US$50.8 billion, according to official data released by Egypt’s Central Agency for Public Mobilisation and Statistics, as reported by
Sada El-Balad, a partner of TV BRICS.

This represents a 19.5 per cent increase compared to US$42.5 billion recorded in 2023, reflecting Egypt’s expanding integration with the BRICS economic group.

Egyptian exports to BRICS countries reached US$9.4 billion in 2024, up from US$8.5 billion in 2023 – an increase of 10.6 per cent, underscoring the growing demand for Egyptian products across member states.

The United Arab Emirates ranked as one of the main BRICS importers of Egyptian goods in 2024, with imports valued at US$3.3 billion. Other key destinations for Egyptian exports included Brazil (US$854.4 million), Russia (US$606.8 million), India (US$517.4 million), China (US$393.6 million), Indonesia (US$151.3 million), South Africa (US$114 million), Ethiopia (US$113 million), and Iran (US$2.4 million).

Experts believe that Egypt’s rising trade figures with BRICS countries reflect the success of its strategic partnership with the group and its commitment to fostering stronger trade, investment, and innovation-driven cooperation across the Global South.
