
The Egyptian national table tennis team secured a total of 14 medals at the African Table Tennis Championships held in Tunisia. According to
Sada El-Balad, a partner of TV BRICS, the team collected 7 gold, 4 silver and 3 bronze medals across various events.
In the team competitions, Egypt’s men’s team clinched gold after defeating Algeria 3–1 in the final. The women’s team also took the top podium spot, beating Uganda convincingly with a 3–0 scoreline.
In the men’s singles, Omar Assar took gold, while Youssef Abdel-Aziz earned silver. In the women’s singles, Hana Goda won gold, with Dina Meshref finishing second. Egyptian players also topped the podium in every category of the doubles events.
The championships brought together athletes from 19 countries and were hosted in Tunisia. Following their strong performance, Egypt’s national team has secured qualification for the 2026 World Table Tennis Championships.
