Egypt launches first smart application for hospital equipment planning in regional and global milestone

The system uses detailed input data, such as departmental structure, room count, and bed numbers, to produce equipment lists

Egypt’s General Authority for Healthcare Accreditation and Regulation has announced the launch of the first smart application of its kind at both the regional and international levels. This is reported by
Sada El-Balad, a partner of TV BRICS.

The platform is designed to identify and standardise medical equipment requirements across all types of hospitals in accordance with the National Medical Equipment Guideline. The application allows healthcare professionals and decision-makers to experience firsthand how hospital data is entered and model equipment lists are generated.

Experts claim that this application also supports both existing and planned healthcare facilities, helping ensure that resources are allocated efficiently, safely, and in alignment with institutional needs.

The system uses detailed input data, such as departmental structure, room count, and bed numbers, to produce customised, approved equipment lists, significantly reducing costs and unnecessary procurement.

According to the source, the new smart application is expected to play a pivotal role in building a data-driven, quality-centred healthcare system in Egypt, bolstering investor confidence and reinforcing the country’s status as a regional hub for medical excellence.
