Egypt has unveiled its first specialised artificial intelligence (AI) complex of its kind in the region, reports Sada El-Balad, a partner of TV BRICS.

The new facility, located in a major urban development in Cairo, is designed as an integrated ecosystem combining advanced digital infrastructure, flexible workspaces and dedicated support centres for start-ups. The initiative is expected to attract investment and create a favourable environment for the growth of high-tech industries.

At the core of the project is a multi-year programme aimed at supporting up to 100 AI-focused start-ups by 2030. Entrepreneurs will benefit from specialised training, investment readiness support and access to international innovation networks and markets, enhancing their ability to scale and compete globally.

The hub will also incorporate next-generation connectivity and smart operational systems to improve efficiency and adaptability, aligning with rapid shifts in the global digital economy. Officials say the initiative will contribute to national strategies focused on building smart, sustainable cities and strengthening digital transformation.

Experts believe that the launch forms part of a broader partnership involving local and international stakeholders, reflecting a coordinated effort to expand innovation capacity and accelerate the development of Egypt’s digital ecosystem.
