Egypt to welcome Africa Health ExCon 2026 to explore future of digital healthcare in Africa

From 15 to 18 June 2026, Cairo will host the fifth edition of Africa Health ExCon, the largest pan-African exhibition and conference dedicated to healthcare, medical technologies, pharmaceuticals and medical equipment. The event will take place at the Egypt International Exhibition Center (EIEC) under the patronage of the President of Egypt, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

Organised by the Egyptian Authority for Unified Procurement, Medical Supply and the Management of Medical Technology (UPA) in cooperation with the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC), the forum is expected to bring together more than 400 companies and over 45,000 participants, including healthcare professionals, policymakers, researchers and industry leaders from around the world.

Held under the theme “Health Sovereignty in Africa: Leadership, Resilience, and Self-Reliance”, Africa Health ExCon 2026 will address key issues shaping the future of healthcare on the continent, including digital transformation, artificial intelligence, healthcare innovation, pharmaceutical manufacturing, supply chain resilience and health security.

The programme features more than 21 specialised conferences, strategic dialogue sessions and technical workshops aimed at fostering investment, strengthening partnerships and supporting sustainable healthcare development in line with the African Union Agenda 2063 and Egypt Vision 2030.

Hisham Stait, Chairman of the Egyptian Authority for Unified Procurement, emphasised that Africa Health ExCon is to become one of the continent’s leading platforms for healthcare cooperation.

“We are committed to creating a comprehensive platform that brings together governments, international organisations, and private-sector stakeholders to accelerate investment, foster innovation, and build a more sustainable healthcare future for African nations,” he said.

According to Hisham Stait, this year’s edition will place particular emphasis on strengthening healthcare supply chains, localising medical manufacturing and enhancing Africa’s health sovereignty.

The event will also highlight new approaches to healthcare integration across Africa, including discussions on the African Pooled Procurement Mechanism (APPM) and the role of strategic medical infrastructure in ensuring access to essential healthcare products.
