Egypt’s Suez Governorate to receive EGP 9.7bn in public investments
Egypt’s Minister of Planning and Economic Development Hala El-Said announced that Egypt has allocated EGP 9.7bn (US$207 million) as public investments in Suez Governorate for the fiscal year 2023/24.
These investments will finance 189 development projects in various sectors, including oil, transport and health. This is reported by

The oil sector will receive the largest share of investments, with EGP 4.2bn (US$90,03 million) allocated to projects in this area, representing 43% of the total investments for the governorate. Other sectors that received significant investments include the Suez Canal sector with EGP 1.6bn (US$36 million), the transport sector with EGP 1.4bn (US$30 million), and higher education with EGP 778m.
This investment plan is part of a wider initiative to announce plans for citizens in all governorates for the fifth consecutive year. The aim is to raise citizens’ awareness of the directions and priorities of the sustainable development plan for FY 2023/24 and its role in achieving Egypt’s Vision 2030.
The investment plan for Suez Governorate includes key projects in the health and higher education sectors. In the health sector, 10 projects will be implemented, including the completion of Sadr Suez Hospital and the modernisation of primary health care units.
