Emirates News Agency presents 2nd Global Media Congress White Paper

It focuses on trends, challenges and opportunities in the global media industry

The Emirates News Agency (WAM) launched the event’s annual White Paper on the trends, challenges and opportunities of the global media industry at an exclusive event in Nairobi, Kenya. The theme of the event was “Decisive Leadership in an Increasingly Complex Media Landscape”.

The Emirates News Agency (WAM) presented the White Paper during an event organised by Kenya. It comprises eight chapters, each addressing different aspects of modern journalism, such as the role of artificial intelligence, news fatigue, technology in sports journalism, the challenges of disinformation, environmental journalism and the use of data. The book also emphasises the importance of ethics and quality in news production.

The white paper was published after the World Media Congress in Abu Dhabi, which attracted many experts and visitors. It looks at issues such as the role of print journalism, the impact of artificial intelligence on the industry and environmental journalism. This is reported by

Mohamed Jalal Alrayssi, Director-General of WAM said the media industry has to make decisions with profound implications, but media leaders are enthusiastic and committed to creating a sustainable media industry of the future.

The event also included a panel discussion on the role of changing audience behaviour, technology, sports and environmental journalism in the Kenyan and African media landscape.
