Traveling through villages wearing exotic, vibrant attire, the Gawari dance performers express their age-old folklore through singing and dancing around the streets to entertain the rural public. The Gawari dance has long been practiced by the famous Bheil tribe of Rajasthan. As they go from village to village for around a month – with distinct characters and various stories- they express their traditional art form by enacting various episodes around a central spot consecrated to a deity.
