Both parties reaffirmed their dedication to fostering mutual understanding and cultural exchange
Ethiopia and China have held talks in Beijing to deepen cultural collaboration as part of their All-Weather Strategic Partnership, according to the Ethiopian Embassy in Beijing. This was reported by

Ambassador Tefera Derbew met with Xu Rong, Deputy Director General of the Bureau of International Exchange and Cooperation at the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China, to discuss the advancement of the Ethiopia–China Cultural Cooperation Plan for 2024–2026. Their meeting focused on how to effectively implement the plan and strengthen ongoing cultural initiatives.
The discussions also highlighted the importance of enhancing people-to-people connections between the two nations. Both parties reaffirmed their dedication to fostering mutual understanding and cultural exchange as integral elements of the strategic partnership.
This cultural dialogue follows the elevation of Ethiopia and China’s bilateral relations to an All-Weather Strategic Cooperation Partnership in October 2023. That agreement marked a shift towards comprehensive cooperation in various sectors, including trade, infrastructure, and culture, aligned with the goals of the Belt and Road Initiative.
