State Minister of Health Seharela Abdulahi emphasised that a legal and policy framework is being established to ensure the security, privacy and high quality of these innovative healthcare services.
Furthermore, the minister noted that the revised national health policy also recognises AI and telemedicine as central pillars of future healthcare improvement.
Experts highlighted that artificial intelligence is already showing promising results in various aspects of healthcare. It contributes to improving data accuracy, helps make more informed clinical decisions, improves early diagnosis of diseases and improves the accuracy of patient health predictions.
According to the source, as part of efforts to expand access to healthcare services, more than 60 hospitals are already connected to integrated digital networks and cloud platforms, with another 200 institutions preparing to join, which is a significant step in the digitalisation of the sector.
