A new fertility treatment centre will soon be established in the Sanur Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Denpasar, Bali, as part of Indonesia’s broader plan to strengthen its medical and wellness tourism sector. This is reported by
Antara News.
The facility is being developed through a partnership between state-owned enterprise and a Malaysian fertility clinic network. The new clinic will provide full-spectrum reproductive and maternal healthcare services, including IVF treatment, obstetrics, gynecology, and pediatric care.
The Sanur SEZ – inaugurated by President Prabowo Subianto in June 2025 – is Indonesia’s first integrated health and tourism zone. Covering over 41 hectares, it is designed to host modern medical, hospitality, and research facilities.
According to the National SEZ Council, the Sanur SEZ is expected to attract total investments of around US$637 million and create 18,375 direct and 25,272 indirect jobs once fully operational.
As of the first quarter of 2025, the zone had already recorded cumulative investments of US$276 million and generated 3,822 jobs.
