The Head of international news agency Data Urgente, Sebastian Salgado, emphasised that BRICS countries face significant responsibilities within the framework of the G20 summit, especially on issues of solidarity, equality, and sustainability.
According to the expert, South Africa, the host country, promotes a vision that places the need for a common agenda linked to the environment at the forefront.
In an exclusive comment for TV BRICS, Salgado highlighted that Africa has a strong interest in ensuring that the group’s countries acknowledge the urgency of building a joint project capable of countering the effects of global warming. In this regard, he valued that the preparatory meetings of G20 Ministers of Economy had highlighted one of the main global problems: inequality.
For Salgado, G20 leaders cannot ignore this reality if they aspire to strengthen a multipolar world that prioritises policies oriented towards solidarity and social justice within their own societies.
