Head of Tatarstan: Role of Africa in the system of world economy and international relations continues to grow steadily

Head of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov met with First Vice President of Zimbabwe Constantino Chiwenga

Rustam Minnikhanov noted that Africa’s role in the system of world economy and international relations continues to grow. He added that the African continent has recently demonstrated economic growth rates. This is reported by

“There are positive examples of cooperation we are supplying vehicles, machinery equipment, helicopters, rubbers, plastics, a very big segment can be agriculture. Specifically, the supply of products from Tatarstan and there is a big need in your country in terms of irrigation systems,” he stressed.

He emphasised that Africa is an important foreign policy and foreign economic partner for Russia, cooperation with which requires more active development. According to the results of 9 months of the last year, the trade turnover between the parties totalled 138 million dollars.

First Vice President of Zimbabwe Constantino Chiwenga thanked Minnikhanov for the invitation to Kazan and conveyed the greetings of Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa.

The meeting also highlighted the high potential of co-operation between the countries in the field of energy, engineering, medicine and IT.
