India adopts AI for early diagnosis of cancer

More than 1,500 patients have already been screened using these technologies

India has for the first time announced the introduction of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology in cancer diagnosis methods. This is reported by
ANI, a partner of TV BRICS.

“With AI we are able to detect or classify patients as high risk for cancers almost 5 years ahead in some of them,” said doctor Guru N Reddy, who works at the hospital implementing AI.

Radiologists at the hospital have received special training in integrating AI and more than 1,500 patients have already been screened using the technology.

Experts emphasise that AI technologies are rapidly evolving in various fields and will have a significant impact on medicine.

Along with liquid biopsy, which has already been performed on hundreds of patients, AI technologies in imaging will complement and improve early cancer diagnosis.
