India and Brazil strengthened their agricultural innovation partnership with the launch of the second edition of the cross-incubation programme in agrotechnology, Maitri 2.0.
According to
Prensa Latina, a partner of TV BRICS, the initiative serves as a two-way learning platform between the two nations, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange.
At the launch, Mangi Lal Jat, Secretary of the Department of Agricultural Research and Education, noted that commercialisation extends beyond generating revenue, stressing the need to deliver publicly funded innovations directly to end users.
Jat described Maitri 2.0 as a platform for co-creation between Indian and Brazilian innovators and reaffirmed the commitment to build a stronger, more innovative, and inclusive agri-food ecosystem to support global food security.
Brazilian Ambassador to India Kenneth Nobrega highlighted the strategic importance of fostering synergies between the agrotechnology ecosystems of both countries. He noted that the programme aligns with the shared vision of Brazilian and Indian governments for cooperation in agriculture, emerging technologies, nutrition, and food security.
