India Global Technology Summit 2025 sets new standards for sustainable technology conferences
The summit featured real-time monitoring and public display of its carbon emissions
The Global Technology Summit (GTS) 2025, organised by India’s Ministry of External Affairs, was held in New Delhi from 10 to 12 April 2025. Centred around the theme “Sambhavna” – meaning “possibilities” in Hindi – this year’s summit brought together over 150 experts, policymakers, and academics from around the world to explore critical issues shaping the future of technology.
With a programme of more than 25 sessions, the summit addressed topics such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, digital public infrastructure, geopolitics, data governance, and India’s growing influence in global technology cooperation.
A highlight of GTS 2025 was its pioneering commitment to environmental sustainability. The event introduced a comprehensive Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) action framework, aimed at significantly reducing its ecological footprint. This is reported by
ANI, a partner of TV BRICS.
For the first time, the summit featured real-time monitoring and public display of its carbon emissions, actively engaging delegates in tracking and reducing the event’s environmental impact.
Attendees were also encouraged to participate in various sustainability-focused discussions and activities, reinforcing the idea that environmental responsibility should go beyond operational planning and become a shared commitment among all participants.
Experts noted that GTS 2025 not only fostered international cooperation in emerging technologies but also advanced the cause of sustainable development through practical, step-by-step ESG models.
