The country’s electronics manufacturing sector is undergoing a period of unprecedented transformation, driven by policy reforms, record investment, and growing global partnerships. Goyal emphasised that developing home-grown capacity in both finished goods and components will be vital to maintaining export momentum and reducing import dependence.

In line with the Prime Minister’s goal of achieving US$500 billion in electronics manufacturing by 2030, India has rapidly emerged as a trusted hub for design, production, and exports, the report noted.

Between April and September 2025, electronics exports surged by 41.9 per cent to US$22.2 billion, while smartphone exports rose 58 per cent to US$13.38 billion over the same period last year.

Minister Goyal noted that the country’s growing participation in global value chains highlights its evolution into a resilient and trusted manufacturing hub. Rising domestic production of key components such as batteries, chargers, and display modules is also enhancing local value addition and self-sufficiency.
