The Russian leader received his Indian counterpart over a cup of tea at Novo-Ogaryovo near Moscow
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is visiting Russia on 8-9 July on a two-day official visit. His plane landed at Moscow’s Vnukovo 2 airport. The Indian politician walked down the ramp, stepped on the red carpet, where he was met by a guard of honour and an orchestra played the anthems of both countries.
During the talks with Vladimir Putin, the Indian leader is planning to discuss the prospects for further development of relations between the two countries, as well as topical issues on the international and regional agenda. One of the main topics will be economic cooperation, in particular, settlements in national currencies: money transfers, the use of the Indian payment system “RuPay” in Russia and “Mir” in India.
On 8 July, Modi and Putin held an informal meeting in Novo-Ogaryovo near Moscow. The Russian president congratulated his Indian counterpart on his re-election as prime minister.
“It’s very glad to see you. We will have an official conversation tomorrow. And today we can have a quiet conversation at home, probably about the same issues, but unofficially”
