Indian Prime Minister says investment inflows in textile manufacturing doubled

Narendra Modi urged industrialists to adopt eco-friendly technologies

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the largest textile exhibition Bharat Tex 2024 and declared the special importance of this manufacturing sector for the country’s economy.

The leader said the textile sector is one of the four priority areas for employment and women empowerment. Modi added that under the present government, the country has witnessed a 25 per cent jump in textile production and the inflow of foreign direct investment in the sector has doubled, reports
IANS, a partner of TV BRICS.

The Prime Minister urged the textile industry to adopt eco-friendly technologies, avoid the use of chemicals and use natural dyes.

Narendra Modi added that Indian industrialists have already held several exhibitions abroad to promote the country’s textile products and will continue to do so in future to boost exports.
