India’s economy may grow by 7.35% in second quarter of financial year

India’s economy may grow by 7.35 per cent in the second quarter of the 2026–2027 financial year, covering July to September. The forecast is contained in the country’s October economic review by the Ministry of Finance, according to ANI, a TV BRICS partner.

In the previous quarter, from April to June, the country’s economy grew by 7.8 per cent. Between July and September, growth was supported by domestic demand and industrial activity. During this period, Goods and Services Tax collections increased by around 15 per cent compared with the previous quarter, while vehicle sales rose by 25 per cent year-on-year.

Business activity in manufacturing and services also strengthened in September. According to the Ministry, improvements in these indicators and business sentiment point to favourable prospects for the economy in the coming months.

For the remainder of the financial year, economic growth may be supported by domestic consumption, investment, structural reforms, expanding credit and new trade agreements, the report noted.
