Indonesia imported Brazilian offal worth US$19.5 million between January and May 2026. The volume of Brazilian exports amounted to over 12,000 tonnes of product. This was reported by the Brazilian government’s

Indonesia opened its market to Brazilian beef offal in August 2025. By the following month, 17 meat-processing plants had been added to the list of certified exporters, and the number of accredited suppliers had risen to 38. In January 2026, a further 14 plants were granted export authorisation, bringing the total number of plants authorised to supply beef to Indonesia to 52.
The significant volume of exports is largely due to the size of the Indonesian market. The country’s population exceeds 284 million people. In 2025, Indonesia imported more than 70,000 tonnes of beef offal from various countries around the world, worth over US$150 million.
Brazil’s position in this product segment also remains strong. Between January and May 2026, the country exported over 106,000 tonnes of beef offal to 117 countries, generating revenue of US$256 million. By the end of 2025, the volume of supplies had exceeded 267,000 tonnes, while export revenue stood at US$605 million.
The expansion of the list of accredited suppliers is taking place against a backdrop of strengthening trade relations between Brazil and Indonesia. Currently, the Asian country ranks 11th among the largest markets for Brazilian agri-industrial products. In the first five months of this year, imports of Brazilian agricultural products into Indonesia exceeded US$1 billion. The bulk of these exports consisted of soya products, fibre, and textiles.
International trade in by-products enables Brazil to improve the economic efficiency of their use: to reduce losses at meat-processing plants and to generate additional revenue for the beef production sector.
