International travel to Zimbabwe increases in 2025

According to the Zimbabwe National Statistics Agency, Zimbabwe recorded an increase in foreign arrivals in the third quarter of 2025, driven mainly by growth in business travel and tourism. This is reported by
The Herald, a partner of TV BRICS.

The number of business visitors rose by nearly 43 per cent year-on-year, increasing from 82,454 to 118,496. Tourists remained the largest group of travellers, with arrivals up 18 per cent.

Overall, 520,751 foreign visitors entered the country during the quarter, representing a 15 per cent increase compared with the same period in 2024. Including returning residents, total arrivals reached 1,381,554 people.

Director General of the agency Tafadzwa Bandama stated international migration data play a key role in national planning and policymaking, providing insights into the scale and structure of cross-border mobility.

Visitors from African countries accounted for 58.9 per cent of total arrivals, with South Africa remaining the largest source market, followed by Mozambique and Zambia, the source reports.

The growth in arrivals supports Zimbabwe’s long-term tourism strategy, which aims to expand the sector to US$10 billion by 2030 through infrastructure upgrades, cultural tourism development and policies focused on sustainability and heritage preservation.
