Iran and China have reaffirmed their commitment to expanding cooperation in the field of elderly care, building on their shared vision of inclusive development and social well-being. The two sides agreed to strengthen collaboration in healthcare, rehabilitation, and community-based services for senior citizens, as reported by
IRNA, a partner of TV BRICS.
As part of this partnership, joint programmes will focus on improving access to health and social support for elderly people, including initiatives tailored to women and persons with disabilities. Both countries also expressed readiness to exchange expertise in developing age-friendly environments and to promote new approaches to elderly care policy.
China pledged to share its knowledge in areas such as training professional caregivers, integrating modern technologies into care systems, and designing innovative community services. Iran, in turn, will adapt these practices to its national context while contributing its own experience in family-based care.
The cooperation also envisions cultural and educational exchanges, with the aim of raising awareness about active ageing and strengthening the social participation of senior citizens. The two countries see this as an important step towards building more inclusive and resilient societies, as reported by the source.
Officials emphasised that these initiatives mark the beginning of a long-term partnership designed to ensure quality of life for older generations in both nations.
